TEAM WORK IS A WONDERFUL THING

"Volunteers pile up garbage removed from the sea floor."On December 17th 2000 PADI Canada was proud to support the initiative and efforts of The Underwater Council of British Columbia (UCBC) as the village of Lions Bay received a spectacular underwater clean-up at its marina.

"Volunteers pose for a group photo."More than 50 volunteer participants assisted sponsors such as PADI Canada, The Canadian Navy Dive Team, Canadian Coast Guard, several local dive centres, The Canadian Association of Freediving and Apnea, Freybe meats, and others.

"Piles of garbage removed from Lions Bay."Large quantities of garbage including, tires, car batteries, metal siding and bottles were removed from the sea bottom. PADI Canada donated prizes for the prize draw; Several happy volunteers went home with PADI education video packs.

The free BBQ was most appreciated on this cold, snow covered day; hot chocolate, coffee, and hot dogs courtesy of Freybe meats were enjoyed by all of the participants.

A good time was had by all and Lions Bay will never be the same.
